Course Objectives
Stuttering - January 10, 2012
Participants will gain a better understanding of children, teens and adults who stutter and their families, and the social and educational impact of Disfluency. Participants will also gain Fluency Shaping and Stuttering Modification techniques to use in stuttering therapy, as well as knowledge regarding valuable resources available in the area of Stuttering.
SLPs will also learn therapy techniques for Disfluency.
Instructional Level: Intermediate
Behavior Based Language Testing- February 21, 2012
This presentation at the intermediate/professional level will enhance the participant's knowledge of identifying pre-requisite skills for the emergence of language. The participant will be able to identify behavior based assessment procedures following exposure to ABA assessment protocols that have incorporated speech and language milestones to better assess students with language delays. This intermediate level course reviews principles of ABA as they relate to meeting speech and language goals and teaching participants to identify pre-requisite skills for the emergence of language. Speech-Language Pathologists will be provided with methods/techniques for assessing language deficits and generating language goals. In addition the participant will learn procedures for on-going progress monitoring.

Memory and Cognition: An Approach to Therapy - April 17, 2012
Memory and cognition are frequent areas of concern for children and adults. This intermediary level course reviews the sequence of memory and cognitive development. Strategies to improve memory and cognition will be provided.
